Detailed History of The Warren Group
In 1967, Paul and Doris Warren founded Warren Ready Mix, which was the beginning of what would soon become an incredibly diversified company.
Warren Truck Centre became an addition to the organization in 1975, when it began as PAR transportation. The long haul division, which was then running under Fastrax, needed a shop to uphold and repair the units that were in the fleet. As a result of this, the Truck Centre was founded.
When 1981 rolled around, the Warrens set up a hardware store and purchased trucks to haul their building supplies. This eventually grew and in 1987, Warren Transport was established. In the same year, Concrete Solutions began as a precast concrete manufacturing division of Warren Ready Mix, adding to this rapidly expanding company.
By 1994, the Warrens had approximately 70 employees with their company, including Vaughn Sturgeon, certified management accountant and finance expert. During this year, Vaughn was hired as General Manager for the transportation division, which already operated 25 trucks.
It was 1997, and Paul and Doris were starting to prepare for retirement. During this time Vaughn was beginning to buy shares of the company.
Warren Truck Centre started receiving a growing number of requests from local companies to repair outside equipment. In 1998, the Truck Centre became a Mack Authorized Parts and Service Dealer for the Rexton area. Also in this year, Vaughn Sturgeon was promoted to CEO of the company.
In 1999, the Warren Group continued to expand and added a Bulk Fleet to Warren Transport.
By 2002, Mr. Sturgeon became sole owner of the Warren Group, which now has approximately 200 to 250 staff members, and assets reaching about 10 million dollars.
The newest addition to, what is now known as, the Warren Group is Gerard Mazerolle Enterprises, which joined the Company in 2003.
Over the years, the Warren Group has continually grown and developed into the successful company it is today. With four divisions, Warren Transport – General, Warren Transport – Bulk, Warren Truck Centre, and Construction Service & Material, this company proves its dedication and drive to succeed.
